Randy Oliver
Randy started keeping bees as a hobbyist in 1966 and then went on to earn degrees in biological sciences, specializing in entomology. In 1980 he started a commercial beekeeping operation in California which he continues to run today with his two sons. They have between 1000-1500 colonies. Randy writes for the American Bee Journal and speaks at various beekeeping conventions worldwide. He's known for scouring scientific studies relating to beekeeping and weeding through all the information out there on websites, magazines, articles, etc. to be able to offer accurate information and practical applications to beekeepers.

Carolyn Breece
Since 2009, Carolyn Breece has been a research assistant at the Oregon State University Honey Bee Lab (Go Beavs!). She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and a master’s in forestry. She is also a committee member and volunteer mentor for the Oregon Master Beekeeper Program. In addition to managing OSU’s research and educational apiary, she has 8 colonies of her own, one of which is co-managed by her 10 year old son, Simon. Together, they sell honey labeled Honey, I love you!​
